Our IMPACT

By transforming the 50 million tons of surplus livestock waste produced annually in Korea into eco-friendly biochar, we help to reduce environmental pollution and drive meaningful carbon reduction.

BIO C&C is a sustainable carbon materials company driving innovation in ESG-based agriculture.

WHAT IS
BIOCHAR?

Biochar is an eco-friendly carbon material produced through the pyrolysis of biomass at temperatures above 350°C.

It features a highly porous structure and large surface area, providing excellent water retention and nutrient-holding capacity.

As a sustainable carbon material, it helps improve acidic soils, mitigate continuous cropping damage, and reduce salt accumulation in soil.

In particular, livestock manure-based biochar contains concentrated nutrients inherent to animal waste, making it an effective alternative to organic fertilizers and helping reduce the use of chemical fertilizers.

WHAT WE DO

03 Carbon Credits

This business converts livestock manure into biochar, enabling verified greenhouse gas reductions and carbon credit generation.

1 ton of biochar = 2 tCO₂eq reduction.

We are expanding globally, with carbon credit pre-sales secured with partners such as KIA and Shinhan Investment Corp..

02 Livestock Manure Biochar

Livestock manure is converted into biochar through a controlled pyrolysis process, serving both environmental and agricultural applications.

This stable carbon material enhances long-term soil health while contributing to odor reduction and water quality improvement.

Our biochar solutions are designed for diverse uses, from crop cultivation and turf management to ecosystem restoration.

01 Pyrolysis System

We design and operate pyrolysis systems that convert organic materials into biochar under high-temperature, oxygen-free conditions.

By fully recycling the biogas generated during the process, the system enables uniform decomposition while minimizing external energy use, significantly reducing overall environmental impact.

Since 2023, a pilot project has been in operation in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, under a regulatory sandbox demonstration program.

OUR VALUES

01

People-Centered Organization

We believe environmental challenges require more than a single solution. By bringing together expertise in integrated planning, thermal engineering, microbiology, and marketing, we create practical solutions that connect technology with real-world application.

02

Proprietary Livestock Manure Biochar Technology

From microbial-based pretreatment to drying and carbonization, as well as air emission control technologies, every stage of the process is designed with both efficiency and environmental impact in mind.

We are leading the standardization of livestock manure-based biochar production technologies on a global scale.

03

Proven Commercialization Capabilities

We have demonstrated strong execution through key milestones, including selection for a government-funded pilot project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, revisions to fertilizer standards by the Rural Development Administration, regulatory sandbox approval from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and certifications as a Green Technology and Innovative Product from the Ministry of Environment and the Public Procurement Service.

We are also the first in Korea to supply livestock manure-based biochar carbon credits to leading partners such as Shinhan Investment Corp. and KIA—turning environmental value into tangible business outcomes and building a sustainable business model.

04

ESG-Driven Agricultural Innovation

Discarded livestock manure is a major source of environmental and social challenges in rural communities.

By transforming it into a valuable resource, we create a system where agriculture and livestock farming can grow sustainably together.

BIO C&C drives demand through low-carbon crop certification and carbon-neutral subsidy programs—offering a new model for ESG-driven agriculture where environmental and economic value coexist.
